The Membership Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke’s Social Development Unit announced that it will be holding Information Sessions to determine/consider amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law.
The sessions will focus on the history of Membership in Kahnawà:ke to help prepare Kahnawa’kehró:non for the amendment process.
Sessions will be held Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings from 8 Seskehkó:wa/September to 2 Kenténha/October, inclusive. Wednesday sessions start at 7pm, while Saturday sessions are scheduled for 10am. All sessions will be held at the Community Room located at the Peacekeepers Station. The proposed amendments will be brought to the Community Decision Making Process upon completion of the Information Sessions.
