The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Commission wishes to inform the community that the Feedback Report for the draft Regulation Respecting Eligibility Criteria for Appointment of Judges of the Court of Kahnawà:ke and draft Regulation Respecting the Selection and Appointment of Judges of the Court of Kahnawà:ke has been reviewed and analyzed by the Technical Drafting Committee and is now available for viewing.
A 30-day review period of the draft regulations took place from November 18 to December 18, 2024, with no feedback received either online or by email for that period. However, feedback was obtained from a focus group held on September 23, 2024, and a kiosk on December 4, 2024.

The draft regulations are pursuant to the Kahnawà:ke Justice Act which was enacted on June 15, 2015. The regulations are a necessary component for the implementation of the law.
