Legislative Index Glossary
TYPE
Identifies what category type each piece of legislation falls, as follows:
Type 1: Empowerment Laws; Laws of General Application, Laws that affect the entire community.
Type 2: Regulatory Laws; Laws that affect a portion (or specific interest) of the community and/or Fiscal/Budgetary or Administrative Laws.

- 1. Draft: Incomplete legislation (either in content or process)
- 2. In Force: Successfully enacted legislation



MCK LEGAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE:
Identifies the MCK Legal Services Representative assigned to work on the piece of legislation. This individual will become a part of the LCC Technical Team for the duration of the Legislative Process for the piece of legislation.
MCK/3RD PARTY TECHNICIAN:
Identifies the MCK or Third Party Technician responsible for the management of the file or piece of legislation in question. This individual will become a part of the LCC technical Team for the duration of the Legislative Process for the piece of legislation

MCK PORTFOLIO TITLE:
Identifies the MCK Portfolio in which the legislation currently falls, as follows:
- Canada/Kahnawà:ke Relations
- Community Protection
- Economic Development
- Education
- Finance and Administration
- Justice
- Lands
- Language and Culture
- Quebec/Kahnawà:ke Relations
- Recreation
- Seigneury of Sault St. Louis
- Social Development

MCK PORTFOLIO HOLDER:
Identifies the Kahnawà:kehró:non Ratitsénhaiens currently responsible for the mandate or portfolio in which the legislation is entitled. The Kahnawà:kehró:non Ratitsénhaiens currently holding office for the 2006-2009 Kahnawà:ke Term of Office are as follows:

REVISION DATE:
Identifies the revision date in accordance with the Legislative Process five-year review requirement for all legislation.
PRIORITY:
- High: Legislation that requires immediate attention because: a) it must be implemented before some other piece of legislation; b) it must be amended for consistency purposes as a result of enactment or amendment of some other piece of legislation; c) it is integrally related to the MCK Mission or the MCK Priorities, or the MCK Five Year Operational Plan.
- Medium: Legislation that will be developed, but not necessarily implemented with the current mandate of Chiefs (secondary objectives).
- Low: Preliminary development and discussion of legislation or review of outdated legislation to either repeal or amend to modernize.ted by By-law #1A
