Regulations enacted for the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law and the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) wishes to inform the community that the following two Regulations for the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law were enacted on Monday, July 18, 2022, by MCED# 44/2022-2023:

Regulation #8 – Respecting the Compliance Officer in the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law
Regulation #9 – Respecting the Registrar in the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law

The following two Regulations for the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law were rescinded and replaced, and enacted on Monday, July 18, 2022, by MCED# 43/2022-2023:

Regulation #6 – Respecting the Registrar of the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law
Regulation #7 – Respecting Applications for Recognition in the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law

The Draft Regulations were reviewed by community members via two (2) focus groups and posted on www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com for a 30-day review period that ended  April 7, 2022.

The Regulations for both the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law and the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law  are now published on the CDMP website at www. kahnawakemakingdecisions.com/legislation.
